I am a certified snowboard instructor for The Telluride Ski and Snowboard School. I started skiing at the age of 11, when I turned 16, I started to snowboard and never stopped (23 years exp.). I also teach snow bikes, wakeboarding, wakeboard freestyle, trick skiing, water-ski jumping, water-ski slalom course and flyfishing. I own a full service internet company, website design, hosting, email, streaming/on-demand video services and own and operate over 130 local Telluride websites, including TELLURIDE WEB TV.com and TellurideToday.com. I have lived in Telluride for 6 years. |

I teach men, women and children ages 6 and up. I have a passion for snowboarding that I wish to share with
others. I focus on guest centered teaching methods. I do not see my guests as just another student that must
be stamped into a particular mold or "cookie cutter" skiing model. I tailor your lesson to your existing skills,
physical abilities, desires, goals and objectives. I enjoy working with kids. My passion is that any child I teach
will develop the same lifetime passion for snowboarding. As snowboarder, I love to travel to the Winter X Games

Whether you want to begin or improve your snowboarding ability or want someone to acquaint you with the
Telluride Ski Resort I am at your service. If I am not available when you need lessons I will try to match you up
with another
instructor suitable for your goals and objectives.
Why do you want a certified snowboard instructor?
A certified instructor is committed to excellence in all
aspects of their personal skill level and helping you to
learn. An expert snowboarder does not make a good instructor if they can't help others to master expert skills.
he ability to help a student understand and learn something new in a way that works for the student is much
more important than the raw snowboarding skills of the teacher. Just because your best buddy can rip doesn't
mean he can teach you effectively. Coaches for professional athletes rarely match the sports skills of their
athletes yet their athletes do so well because of their coaches trained eyes and knowledge of what's really
needed. With a certified snowboard instructor you get both expert teaching and snowboarding skills.
Certified snowboard and ski instructors go through
rigorous training, testing and ongoing continuing
education.
Our training is not just how to ski or snowboard as experts though expert skills are essential to clearly
demonstrate appropriate snowboarding movements to you, the guest. Additionally, we are trained in
understanding the various ways different people learn new skills and how to most effectively teach to those
learning styles. We are trained to teach to the needs of the individual guests whether that be physical ability,
age, gender and specific goals and desires of the guest. To us, you are an individual, not a number. Our training
and testing includes emphasis on "movement analysis" or the ability to see how a person's movements affect
what their snowboards do. In essence this means analyzing "what the rider is doing right or what they are doing
wrong" and teaching how to expand good movements and correct deficient ones. Our education also includes
keeping up with trends in modern snow sports equipment and how it relates to biomechanics.
